KidStrong is the new and improved children's ministry department here at the church! Led and organized by Noelle Barefoot and Sarah Thomas as department heads, KidStrong aims to provide children ages 6 months to 12 years with a biblical foundation that parents trust and kids can enjoy!
Our three main goals through KidStrong is to:

Firstly, Teach your children the Word of God through engaging and fun age-appropriate lessons.
​
Secondly, encourage spiritual growth. We teach all about prayer, worship, intimacy with Jesus, being molded into His image, and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
​
And lastly, base everything we do on loving God and loving each other. We build relationships with the kids so they can build a relationship with God

Noelle Barefoot - Director
Noelle Barefoot grew up in Hampton, Virginia. She moved to Smithfield after the birth of her second child. She is married to her husband: James and together they have three children. She has been a Hampton City School elementary teacher for many years and has been a Math Interventionist at Bryan Elementary for the last ten years. Noelle has worked with children in ministry for over 25 years. She is a graduate of Christopher Newport University. She continued her education and graduated from Life Christian University in 2020, with a degree in Theology.
Noelle believes that building relationships, building a strong biblical foundation, and having fun in Kids Ministry are key to helping kids learn to love Christ. If you can’t find Noelle at church or school, look for her at the beach reading a good book, walking a trail with her family, or visiting her oldest daughter and son-in-law in Goochland, Va. She has been known to keep a filled coffee mug handy and carry goodies in her tote bag. Ask nicely and she is always willing to share!
Pr. Sarah Thomas - Nursery
Pr. Sarah Thomas has been a part of our church since she moved here in 2018 from West Virginia. She was homeschooled her entire childhood and then attended Life Christian University. She graduated in 2021 with a bachelors in Theology. She married her husband Taemon in 2022.
Sarah has always loved babies and children and enjoys doting on her many nieces and nephews as well as the children at church. She has been employed by a local preschool and a nanny for most of her adult life.
